So pumped for these!! Still watch the elements of perfection on a daily basis.... far out I'm keen to be back in Whistler! So mad! Far more respect to someone doing that, than a triple flip on a bmx which has been set up with huge ramps and run ins.... At least it's not an ellsworth :| Varaxis - whilst the Stealth Hubs might have infinite points, it's not quite instant engagements. It's a one way bearing instead of pawls, and it has to jam itself under the load before it provides any real engagement. So it would sorta feel like steeping on a sponge before you actually get to put down the power. I think you've been playing too much COD my friend.... Probably because it's a pit chat video? I have no experience on a high end grip shifter, but if I had a dollar for the number of times my thumb hits the trigger shifter of my x0 then I'd be rather rich.
And if your hand has slipped in a race run, then you have more than likely lost time from being out of control. I wouldn't try and blame it on the shifter.

No goggles too.... :0 I imagine trek have simply tried to go all the way with their race-ready spec. It's designed to be an off-the-shelf machine for downhill racing, and nothing less. According to trek, this spec is as good as it gets. If the only thing PB felt like replacing was the grips, then that's a solid effort. And I reckon if you spent 8 grand, you'd be pretty pissed off if trek had just slumped on some entry level components to fill the gaps. 9 grand gives you pretty much the best. Nothing less. You know... you don't have to watch it. Now Monster Specialized will be after a podium with all three of their racers on it! Way to go Troy, what a ripper.
